Pushing the boundaries of what a book can be, we use book board as an armature to build constructions whose drawers, flaps and movables offer a wry commentary on the changing state of women.
Accordingly, this exhibition is meant to be viewed as a timeline. We start with the curvilinear facade of a Biedermeier writing cabinet circa 1810 when women had few rights and move clockwise around the room, arriving at last at structures and pop-ups representing Mid-century Modern women celebrating their liberation.
