Amee Pollack's artists’ books and constructions, under the banner “Spitz & Pollack”, are in the permanent collections of over 50 organizations such as the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum - Smithsonian, the Brooklyn Museum, The Getty Research Institute, and Yale University.
Additionally, she oversees the undergraduate program in the Department of Art & Design at Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University. She is responsible for the academic and career planning of all 350 BFA and BA students in the department. She has over 25 years’ experience in art education, formerly teaching as a lecturer and adjunct at Creative Arts Laboratory, Teacher’s College, Columbia University and The College of New Rochelle, New York and as an art teacher and consultant throughout New York City.
Other current leadership includes being appointed by her town’s mayor on the Highland Park Arts Commission as Deputy Chair, starting in 2016, where she helped facilitate 75+ arts events including the Sculpture River Walk, Windows of Understanding (5 years), sponsoring a bench to commemorate the discovery of the Band Aid Brand Adhesive in town (artist and carpenter: Lucky Jo) and installing an MGSA MFA alum's mural in town (Raul Ayala, To Break Bread). Pollack also created a bench-sculpture installed in October 2019 to further stimulate more public art in town (see Sculpture portfolio).
Additionally, she was a Rutgers Leadership Academy fellow for academic year 2020-2021 and her capstone project was developing a Creative Laboratory for the Book for undergraduate students where 6 interdisciplinary artists' books would be printed/published.
She holds an MFA in Book Arts & Printmaking from The University of the Arts, an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Art Education & Design from Pratt Institute, and a BA in Art from Franklin & Marshall College.
