Pushing the boundaries of what a book can be, we use book board as an armature to build constructions in the form of furniture and household objects whose drawers, flaps and movables provide a new kind of social commentary and story. Mounted on the wall or freestanding, the structures join our pop-up and carousel books to offer a variety of formats and more than a little wry humor hidden within.
For example, a faux history book turns into an excavation site of past civilizations and a book in the form of a 1950s oven serves up a three-course meal while dishing out advice on How To Please Your Man. Drawing & painting, collage, printing and paper engineering may be used as we strive to meld process, design, and structure to best serve the underlying message. |
